Professional Teeth Whitening – A Brighter Whiter Smile
The key to a healthier and cleaner appearance for your oral hygiene.
The high demand for a bright white smile is increasing throughout dental cosmetic procedures. Professional Teeth Whitening is a high-end, effective and quick product. In this blog, we will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of teeth whitening as a whole, but also look into specific teeth whitening brands.
The advantages of Teeth Whitening
Enhance the Aesthetic Appearance: The undeniable advantage of having teeth whitening is the improvement of the appearance of the teeth and smile as a whole. Many people face the experiences of tooth discolouration, which is usually caused by staining from the things we eat and drink. This is where teeth whitening comes in, to reverse these effects, professional whitening makes your smile brighter, whiter and more aesthetically appealing.
Improve Confidence: Many people are self conscious because of their teeth, and this is why teeth whitening can help improve confidence, resulting in a patient smiling a lot more.
Fast Results: Teeth whitening usually gives the patient fast results, some seeing improvements to the shade of their teeth after just one session!
Minimal Dental Work: After a general health check of the teeth, most patients are able to carry out teeth whitening treatments straight away with no dental work before the process. While others may need some dental work before the teeth whitening process, you can book a free consultation to discuss this with your dentist today.
The disadvantages of Teeth Whitening
Increased Sensitivity: A temporary increase in the sensitivity of the teeth is common with teeth whitening. This can be uncomfortable for some patients, and usually is noticeable with hot and cold temperatures. If you suffer with tooth sensitivity, speak to your dentist at your general check-up.
Irritation to Gums: To avoid any irritation to gums, make sure you follow the instructions given to you by your dentist to reduce your chance of gum irritation. If this is something that you experience, you may need to seek advice from your Dentist or book a check-up with us today.
Impermanent Results: Teeth whitening is not a permanent resolution to stains on teeth, you must remember if you continue the same eating and drinking habits, your teeth are likely to stain again. With improper care, teeth whitening results will not last long, especially if you are a smoker.
Enlighten Whitening: Guaranteed shade of whiteness
Enlighten is quick, reliable and one of the most effective teeth whitening systems available. Custom made teeth whitening trays are made using a digital production service. Enlighten is the only whitening system that guarantees a VITA B1 shade. With a mixture of in-practice and at-home treatment, you can carry on this whitening whenever you feel you need a top-up.
Smilewhite Teeth Whitening: Teeth Whitening, Simplified. With Professional Dentists.
Smilewhite offer a bespoke treatment in which you can achieve brighter and whiter teeth. The treatment can be tailored to your personal preference and is only available as an at-home treatment.
The Treatment Process
Consultation: First you will have an initial consultation with your dentist to check the health of the gums and teeth, this will allow us to determine if you are eligible for teeth whitening. We use high end advanced technology in which we take digital scans of your teeth so that we can make personalised teeth whitening trays.
Starting Whitening: Once your teeth whitening trays have arrived, we can either post them to you, or you can return to the practice to collect them. You will apply a small amount of teeth whitening gel along the inside of the trays, and place onto your teeth. Your dentist will advise on how long to leave this in for dependant on your treatment plan, this is mostly suggested overnight for 2 weeks. If you have opted for the Enlighten Whitening system, you will also book in for a whitening session in-practice.
Finishing Whitening: Once you are happy with the shade of your teeth, you can stop your whitening treatment. If you have leftover gel you can store this for later use - please follow use by date and once opened instructions.
